The Respiratory Care Practitioner-Sleep performs a variety of sleep studies (polysomnograms) on infants and children. Processes all documentation to provide accurate information to the physician. Responsibilities

Experience Required: Minimum 3 years of respiratory acute care experience and/or equivalent Respiratory/Sleep experience. Preferred: 1 year of Polysomnography/Sleep Medicine experience; Pediatric acute care experience. Education
Required: Graduate of an accredited Polysomnography Program, Respiratory Care or equivalent program (A-Step, etc.). Licensure & Certifications
Required: California Respiratory Care Board license. Board of Registered Polysomnographic Technologist (RPSGT) or National Board of Respiratory Care (RRT-SDS) within one year of hire date. American Heart Association BLS. PEARS or PALS. Specialized Skills
Ability to work effectively under pressure due to changing priorities and interruptions; strong patient care and care coordination skills. Excellent interpersonal communication, conflict resolution, and problem-solving abilities. Clinical knowledge of multiple pediatric age groups and treatment plans for sleep disorders. Strong organizational and time-management skills; ability to multi-task and prioritize. Ability to work independently and exercise sound judgment in interactions with physicians, payers, patients, and families. Knowledge to communicate with third-party payers to obtain authorization for appropriate treatment settings. Proficient collaboration with other disciplines. Proficient in Polysmith, Excel, Word, and PowerPoint. Work Environment & Physical Demands
Work environments: Medium to high energy level. Physical: Lift 40-50 lbs, push/pull 150-200 lbs, lateral transfers up to 150-200 lbs; bending, reaching, standing, walking, siting, etc. Non-Discrimination
