The Mannik & Smith Group, Inc. has an opening for a Full-Time Senior Accountant position. This hybrid opportunity is available at our offices in Maumee, Cleveland, Toledo, or Columbus, OH, as well as Canton, MI.

Key Responsibilities
Oversee and backup to maintain and process (as needed) bi-weekly multi-state payroll.
Keep employee payroll records up-to-date
Create and post payroll journals entries to the general ledge.
Work with HR to audit benefit withholdings against provider invoice.
Help investigate and resolve payroll discrepancies.
Ensure compliance of timesheets with employee handbook
Ensure tax compliance with various states and local municipalities
Verify funding of 401k contributions and calculate employer 401k match contribution
Month and year end account reconciliations and schedules
Preparation of weekly and monthly financial reports
Assist with state department of transportation billings and review
Assist with overflow work from accounts payable clerk
Work to identify and implement efficiencies throughout the department
Work closely with CFO and Controller on special projects and department improvement initiatives
Skills, Knowledge and Expertise
Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting with solid understanding of GAAP.
Payroll processing certification and experience preferred.
5+ years of relevant accounting work experience.
Proficient in Microsoft Excel with experience in advanced accounting systems (Deltek Vision or VantagePoint preferred)
Must work well in a team environment, be independently effective and meet deadlines.
Detail-oriented problem solver.
Excellent verbal and written communications skills.
Strong analytical skills.
