Job Summary The Senior Director of SEC Reporting & Technical Accounting will lead the company's external financial reporting processes and will function as a key resource for certain technical accounting matters. This hands-on position will have responsibility to help drive the company's SEC reporting processes, including planning, preparation, and reviewing procedures and controls associated with SEC forms such as Form 10-Qs, 10-Ks, Proxys and 8-Ks. The Senior Director will partner with multiple internal constituents (Legal, Investor Relations, HR, FP&A, GL, and Ops) and external auditors. The position requires working cross-functionally to obtain information, verify data and schedules, and accurately communicate financial results in the company's SEC filings and any other external reporting sources. The position will also be responsible for ensuring that GAAP principles are properly applied, researching technical accounting questions and providing guidance on accounting pronouncements. The position will work closely with external auditors and reports to the SVP of Accounting. Responsibilities
Own the technical accounting and financial reporting processes, including implementing tools, and building out the function across the organization, driving system and process improvements. Own the preparation and review of the accounting and disclosures for the Company's annual and interim financial statements and ensure the company is in compliance with SEC reporting requirements, including assessing the impact of new accounting pronouncements. Developing the SEC reporting team by hiring an individual at a Sr. Accountant / Manager level to develop and transition some of the preparation, research and drafting work. Coach the individual on preparation of Form 10-Q, Form 10-K and other filings, including the consolidated financial statements, non-controlling interests, statement of cash flows, equity rollforward, MD&A, and updating financial information in risk factors. Performing a detailed review of the work performed by the SEC reporting team Preparation of individual brand(s) financial statement report(s) for inclusion in franchise disclosure documents. Support quarterly reviews/annual audits, including the preparation and review of supporting reports, memos and documentation; directly interact and manage relationships with external and internal auditors. Coach the SEC reporting team on preparing the disclosure support binder for earnings releases on Form 8-Ks, earnings calls scripts, annual proxy statements, and other SEC forms, and other ad-hoc financial information. Review the disclosure supporting binder to ensure accuracy and consistency of financial information and relevant metrics. Review XBRL tagging. Calculate earnings per share. Stay abreast of changes and activities in the Company and the industry to ensure that their effects are properly reflected in the SEC filings. Own the SEC reporting team’s evaluation of the accounting treatment for all significant accounting transactions, research and implement relevant accounting standards, and draft technical accounting memorandums on significant and complex transactions to support accounting positions. Coach the SEC reporting team on preparation of the monthly internal financial schedules (Journal entries, reconciliation schedules, variance reporting, month-end closing, etc.) for the technical accounting matters as well as equity transactions and review such schedules to ensure accuracy and completeness. Work cross-functionally within the organization to support various stakeholders on technical accounting and financial reporting matters. Perform internal controls in compliance with SOX related to reporting and other complex technical accounting areas. Assist with or be responsible for other duties and ad-hoc projects. Salary Range:

Bachelor's Degree in Accounting or Finance. CPA license required. Minimum 9+ years accounting experience required and Big 4 accounting firm experience highly preferred. Experience with ASC 842, ASC 350, ASC 718, ASC 606 and ASC 230 is a plus. Excellent proficiency in technical accounting, SEC requirements, and US GAAP, including business combination accounting and equity/option accounting. Experience with Securities Act of 1933 related filings. SOX, policies, and controls experience required. Experience with equity accounting. Be open-minded and flexible to additional responsibilities to perform and assist in other accounting functions and special projects. Experience with Donnelly’s Active Disclosure reporting tool a plus. Experience with NetSuite a plus. Strong attention to detail and a high degree of accuracy. Ability and commitment to meet strict deadlines with minimal supervision. Excellent communication and language skills, particularly writing skills. Strong organizational skills with the ability to multi-task. Excellent work ethic and highest level of integrity. Team-oriented work style.
