Senior Tax Accountant

- permanent role in Prince Frederick, MD. Onsite for the first 90 days, and hybrid flexibility after that (work from home potential for 1-3 days/week). The Senior Tax Accountant is responsible for providing tax compliance, planning, and strategic advisory services to a diverse client base, including individuals, partnerships, corporations, and trusts. This role requires strong technical expertise in federal, state, and local tax regulations, as well as the ability to manage multiple projects and deliver high-quality client service. Schedule : Monday–Friday; Saturdays during tax season 10-2. Fridays outside of tax season end at 2:30pm. Key Responsibilities Prepare and review federal, state, and local tax returns for various client types. Ensure timely and accurate filing of tax returns, staying current with changing tax laws and regulations. Provide tax planning and consulting services to help clients minimize liabilities and achieve financial goals. Advise clients on tax-efficient strategies for business formation, acquisitions, restructuring, and succession planning. Conduct in-depth research on tax laws, regulations, and rulings to support client needs. Serve as a primary point of contact for clients on tax-related matters, fostering strong relationships. Lead and mentor junior staff and interns, providing guidance and professional development. Review the work of junior accountants and provide constructive feedback. Prepare and present tax reports for clients, including financial summaries and risk assessments. Required Skills & Qualifications Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field. Minimum 2 years of tax experience in public accounting, with a focus on compliance, planning, and consulting. Extensive knowledge of federal, state, and local tax laws. Proficiency with tax preparation software (e.g., UltraTax, CCH Engagement, Thomson Reuters). Strong research, analytical, and problem-solving skills. Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to explain complex tax issues. Proven leadership and project management abilities. Benefits Health Insurance

– For bringing new business to the firm, a bonus of 7.5% of the billed services will be paid to you upon payment by the client. Refer a new professional staff member to the firm and receive a $5,000 bonus. Refer a new paraprofessional staff member and receive a $2,000 bonus. Refer a new administration staff member to the firm and receive a $1,000 bonus. The bonus will be paid quarterly over the first year of employment of the new staff member. Bonuses do not necessarily coincide with your annual or semi-annual performance review. Discretionary bonuses may be given at any time during the year. Continuing Professional Education (CPE)

– Our firm requires that all CPAs obtain 40 hours annually of CPE. Accordingly, we will pay for 40 hours of CPE in courses approved by the firm. Personal Leave
