This is a part-time, seasonal position typically involving after-school hours and weekends for practices and matches. Must be able to work in various weather conditions and maintain a flexible schedule. Program Management: Develop and implement a comprehensive training program for the trackteam, including daily practices, conditioning, and skill development. Team Development: Coach and mentor student-athletes, focusing on both individual and team skills. Encourage sportsmanship, teamwork, and a positive attitude. Keep accurate records of practices, matches, and player performance. Certification: Must hold a valid State of Connecticut Coaching Certification. First Aid, CPR, and Concussion Certification are required. Experience: Previous coaching experience in track,preferably at the high school or collegiate level, is highly desirable. Skills: Strong knowledge oftechniques, strategies, and rules. Demonstrated ability to effectively teach and develop players. Personal Attributes: Demonstrated interest in and aptitude for performing the responsibilities of the position. Ability to motivate and inspire student-athletes while promoting sportsmanship and teamwork.
