The University of Florida Department of Emergency Medicine - Jacksonville is seeking a full-time board-certified emergency physician leader with experience in federally funded research and industry clinical trials. Located in Jacksonville, Florida, the department offers tenured and non-tenured academic multi-mission tracks depending on applicant experience. Responsibilities include research, patient care, and teaching. The position is supported by a robust departmental research infrastructure with protected time and potential for transition to an assistant or associate chair leadership position.
UF Health Jacksonville’s main clinical campus includes a 639-bed urban teaching hospital, Level 1 Trauma Center, pediatric units, regional poison center, and simulation center. The department supports residency training and fellowships in pediatric emergency medicine, ultrasound, research, education, and patient safety. UF Health North and other clinical sites provide diverse patient populations and substantial ED volumes for clinical practice, teaching, and research.

Responsibilities
Expand and lead the current emergency medicine research portfolio.
Provide vision and leadership for federally funded grants (NIH, HRSA, CDC, SAMHSA, etc.) and industry-sponsored studies (clinical, device, biomarker).
Engage in research administration, patient care, and teaching across multi-disciplinary teams.
Collaborate with cross-campus UF colleges and participate in multi-university research networks.
Division and Infrastructure The Division of EM Research manages approximately 80 projects and 60 active IRBs with about $9 million in annual funding. It houses an EM Research Biosafety Level 2 laboratory. Research staff include a PhD associate director, an assistant director of clinical trials, coordinators, program managers, and interns. The division runs the Pain Assessment and Management Initiative (PAMI) and the Florida EMSC State Partnership Program.
Qualifications
Minimum:
MD/DO and board-certified emergency physician with experience in federally funded research and industry clinical trials.
Preferred:
History of successful clinical research (funded or unfunded) in an EM setting.
Compensation & Benefits Expected Salary: Salary and academic appointment negotiable; benefits are excellent.
