Base Power Company About Base
Our mission at Base is to fix the power grid and enable affordable and reliable electricity for all. To do that, we are building America’s Next-Generation Power Company; the first engineering-led, technology-focused, R&D-driven electricity company. We are a team of tenacious engineers, operators, and creatives who have solved hard problems and are here to do it again.
If you’re passionate about tackling one of the most critical challenges of our time, now is the time to join us. Together, we can usher in a new era of American energy abundance.
About The Role
As our leader of New Geographies, you’ll build and run “the machine” that launches Base Power in new markets across the U.S., and eventually, the world.
You will be responsible for designing and executing the processes that bring Base to life in new regions—spanning growth, deployments, policy, and operations. This role is both strategic and hands-on: some days you’ll be in the field solving problems directly, other days you’ll be orchestrating a team to make the launch happen.
We’re looking for someone who thrives in ambiguity, moves with urgency, and can flex between being a coach and a player. If you like building from zero, owning outcomes, and doing whatever it takes to get to launch, we want to talk to you.
Responsibilities
Launch new markets: Own the full process of bringing Base Power to new cities and states—from planning to execution. Policy enablement: Architect and execute local policy and permitting strategies; lead lobbying or implementation efforts as needed. Operational setup: Oversee physical infrastructure setup (real estate selection, facilities, equipment), local hiring, and operations stand-up. Growth planning: Develop and execute customer acquisition and local marketing strategies tailored to each new market. Launch project management: Create detailed launch plans, schedules, and cross-functional coordination processes. Continuous improvement: Track, monitor, and optimize time-to-launch and cost-to-launch metrics.
Required Skills / Qualifications
Operational acumen: Proven experience taking operationally complex initiatives from 0 to 1. Project leadership: Strong organizational skills, clear communication, and experience managing and leading cross-functional teams. Self-starter mentality: Ability to set strategy, build the plan, and execute with minimal direction in a fast-moving environment. Adaptability: Comfort wearing multiple hats—from project manager to on-the-ground operator—and shifting quickly as priorities evolve.
Our Values
We’re Building a Winning Culture And We’re Looking For People Who Are Up For The Challenge. Here’s What We Expect From Day One
In-Person Only: We work full-time in the office. No hybrid. No remote. Challenge the Status Quo: Question assumptions. Fix broken systems. Principles > rules. Move Fast: Focus on what matters, act quickly, and learn by doing. Give & Get Feedback: Be direct, be humble. Challenge ideas–including your own. Own the Outcome: Take full responsibility. Deliver results. No excuses. Act Like an Owner: Be resourceful, mindful of impact, and committed to the business. Be Decisive: Drive clarity. Make bold calls with imperfect info. Bring the Intensity: This is not a 9-to-5. We're building something hard which requires real commitment.
