SOMA - Assistant/Associate Professor Pharmacology Job Type Full-time Description A.T. Still University's School of Osteopathic Medicine in Arizona (ATSU-SOMA) invites applications for a full-time, exempt Assistant/Associate Professor of Pharmacology position at the Mesa, Arizona campus. Faculty members in the Department of Biomedical Science support the mission of ATSU-SOMA and contribute to the education of medical students through student-directed learning of basic and clinical sciences, utilizing clinical cases in small group settings. Responsibilities include: Serving as a content expert in your area of expertise Facilitating small group learning sessions Collaborating with faculty to develop case-based learning materials Preparing educational tools such as AV materials, demonstrations, lectures, and lesson plans Participating in curricular meetings and faculty development Creating assessment questions for formative and summative evaluations Identifying underperforming students and their areas of weakness Interviewing prospective students Advising and mentoring students Serving as an advisor to student clubs Participating in departmental and institutional committees Engaging in scholarly activities, including research and community outreach Serving on university-wide groups as approved Following directions from departmental leadership Being available during scheduled hours for instruction and student support Performing additional duties to meet the department's goals Requirements Knowledge, Skills, Abilities, and Personal Characteristics: Understanding of and ability to maintain student and patient privacy (FERPA, HIPAA) Adherence to OSHA and safety standards Completion of annual employee training Willingness to protect equipment and facilities Strong communication and computer skills (MS Office, SharePoint) Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail Willingness to learn new systems and technologies Ability to maintain a productive work schedule aligned with school hours Confidentiality and professionalism Effective interpersonal and communication skills Respectful and collaborative work attitude Flexibility to perform various duties as needed Minimum Qualifications Terminal degree in pharmacology or pharmacy (PhD or PharmD) with at least two years of teaching experience in higher education.
