Overview
Ranked Assistant or Associate Teaching Professor of Biology at UMKC, School of Science and Engineering, Division of Biological and Biomedical Systems. This is a full-time, non-tenure-track faculty position with potential for ranked promotion.
Responsibilities
Teach undergraduate and possibly graduate courses, including
Introduction to Biology for Non-Majors , upper-level courses in critical thinking, and courses aligned with your expertise (contribute to existing courses or develop new ones).
Demonstrate excellence in teaching and mentoring; experience supporting students from underrepresented backgrounds is a plus.
Qualifications
Ph.D. by start date (or M.D., D.D.S., or D.V.M.).
Experienced MS or MA with significant biological teaching experience will be considered.
Postdoctoral experience encouraged; experience teaching biological concepts is required.
Anticipated Start Date January 1, 2026, negotiable.
Appointment Details
Full-time, 9-month, benefit-eligible, ranked non-tenure-track faculty position.
Opportunity for ranked promotion.
Summer teaching may be available with sufficient enrollment.
