Responsibilities and Accountabilities

Manage a small team of quality technicians and batchers

Assure that all raw materials, process parameters, sanitation procedures, and finished products comply with Customer, Company, State, and Federal standards.

Manage and audit quality programs, maintaining proper documentation.

Assure that HACCP/Food Safety plans are fully implemented and monitored for all processing lines.

Having HACCP certification and meeting the requirements for PCQI and SQF Practitioner responsibilities is a plus, but not necessary.

Support customers when noncompliance issues arise concerning ingredients and supplies, providing feedback to ensure corrections.

Provide managerial and technical leadership to Quality Assurance technicians and other appropriate plant QA staff.

Direct the implementation, process, and follow-up on corrective action items for audits and inspections by customers, FDA, etc.

Analyze quality data and develop reports for leadership.

Approve and release all tested lots as per customer requirements

Investigate consumer and customer complaints and provide written communication regarding the findings.

Qualifications Education Bachelor's degree in Business, Food Science, Microbiology, Management, or related field experience.

Experience

At least 3 years of leadership and/or supervisory experience, with a preference for the food manufacturing industry, and a preference for production environments.

Proven track record of leading teams in a manufacturing environment.

Familiarity with HACCP, GMPs, and quality systems is a plus.

An understanding of FDA and local regulatory requirements is a plus.

Excellent facilitation skills in a team setting, with effective written and oral communication.

Problem-solving skills that provide effective solutions.

Proficiency in reading, writing, and communicating in English and Spanish is a plus
