Overview The laboratory of Dr. Karlo Perica is seeking a highly motivated postdoctoral researcher with a background in immunology, cell therapy, gene engineering, and/or synthetic biology. The laboratory focuses on developing new Chimeric Antigen Receptor T cell and other cell therapies for cancer, including off-the-shelf allogeneic approaches and in vivo editing to improve accessibility and efficacy.

Key Qualifications

Developing allogeneic cells that resist immune rejection

Gene editing of CAR T cells to enhance potency and function

Understanding why CAR T cells are more effective for some patients, using both preclinical models and patient samples

In vivo editing of T cells for solid tumors

Key Requirements

A Ph.D. or M.D./Ph.D. in immunology, cell therapy, gene engineering, or a related field.

Collaborative skills and the ability to work in a team

Willingness to work with animal models

Ability to perform self-directed and guided research

Additional Department Info Our research spans the scientific spectrum from basic studies in animal models to translational and correlative work with patient samples, and development of new cell therapy products. This position offers a unique opportunity to take concepts from conception to drug development. The laboratory seeks to develop a diverse and multi-disciplinary team of students, postdocs and research technicians.

Pay Range 72,000 – 96,405
