Instructor - Certified Anesthesiology Assistant at Baylor College of Medicine. The Department of Anesthesiology is recruiting for a faculty Certified Anesthesiologist Assistant (CAA) at Texas Children's Hospital, N. Austin Campuses, to administer anesthesia to pediatric patients. Under direct supervision of a supervising Anesthesiologist, CAAs assist in preoperative anesthetic evaluation, intraoperative anesthesia and postoperative anesthesia care of patients. Administers anesthesia under the medical direction of a supervising Anesthesiologist. Establishes a comprehensive patient preoperative assessment to assist in anesthetic planning. Orders appropriate preoperative evaluations, laboratory studies and pre-medications after consultation with the anesthesiologist. Initiates multi-parameter monitoring prior to surgery or in other acute care settings. Interprets data from monitors and devices as indicated. Assists in the post-operative management of patients. Manages postoperative ventilator support and acute pain management in conjunction with existing protocols. Minimum Qualifications

Education: Master\u2019s degree from an accredited Anesthesiology Assistant Program by CAAHEP. Note: Bachelor\u2019s degree accepted for those certified prior to 1998. Experience: None required.
