The Softlines Sales Manager is responsible for the overall management and execution of operational excellence for the entire store, with supervision and management of team members in Softlines Sales (which includes Apparel and Footwear). This is a leadership position that drives store performance through supervision, communication and coordination of the team, with goals that impact customer satisfaction, store profitability, and Academy’s purpose. Key Responsibilities

Full-time position averaging 45-50 hours per week. Overall management responsibility for the execution and operational excellence of the entire store. Manage Softlines Sales and participate in personnel decisions including selection, training, discipline, termination and development. Provide departmental direction to the Softlines Sales team and daily oversight to Team Leads and team members to ensure exceptional customer service. Develop and implement strategy to achieve weekly and monthly operational goals, including sales, staffing, training, payroll hours and scheduling. Manage workforce productivity, efficiency and process improvement projects. Ensure compliance with sales, safety and security practices and procedures in relation to local, state and federal regulations. Supervise execution of assignments as delegated by the Store Director; participate in floor walks and implement changes based on feedback. Audit firearm sales in compliance with federal and state law, including ATF Form 4473 and background checks; sign off as final approver. Complete required training: Firearms Sales Certification, Power Industrial Truck Certification, Academy Leadership University. Oversee talent lifecycle including hiring, onboarding, development and coaching of team members. Learn, understand and enforce company policies, procedures and safety rules; adhere to work hours, policies and rules applicable to management-level employees. Responsibilities may change and the Softlines Sales Manager may be assigned other duties as needed. Qualifications

Bachelor’s degree in a related field preferred. At least three years of relevant work experience required. Demonstrated success in leading departments of up to 40 people to drive operational excellence and sales targets. Exceptional supervisory and management skills; ability to coach department members on store policies and expectations; leads by example and drives performance. Excellent customer service orientation; strong problem solving and communication skills. Strong business acumen with understanding of market, competition and profitability targets. Ability to read and interpret general business materials and regulations; effective public speaking and written communication skills. Working knowledge of inventory software, order processing, payroll systems and Microsoft Office. Ability to perform basic mathematical computations and follow written, oral or diagram instructions. Physical Requirements & Attendance

Regularly required to talk or hear; able to stand, walk, sit, use hands, and reach with arms. Occasionally climb, balance, stoop, kneel, crouch or crawl. Occasionally lift up to 25 pounds and frequently up to 10 pounds. Specific vision abilities required include close, distance and peripheral vision, depth perception and adjust focus.
