GENERAL FUNCTION:
Conducts assignments involving accounting projects, provides guidance to less experienced staff, and is responsible for developing and maintaining accurate accounting records. Prepares financial reports and plays a key role in month-end closing duties and reporting. Responsible for risk management by following policies, elevating concerns, and ensuring actions drive a positive customer experience. Achieves results by identifying, assessing, managing, monitoring, and reporting risks within the Bank's risk appetite. ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
Maintain accurate accounting records and perform related functions. Prepare daily entries and oversee others' preparation. Monitor accounts and maintain balances. Ensure compliance with accounting policies and GAAP. Reconcile and resolve outages in complex accounts. Handle special accounting projects and complex assignments. Identify process improvements and develop initiatives to automate and simplify tasks. Leverage technology to enhance efficiency. Facilitate integration of new systems and applications. Coordinate month-end activities across departments. Complete accounting entries and reconciliations accurately and timely. Develop relationships with internal and external stakeholders. Guide and review work of less experienced staff accountants. Assist in developing cross-training programs. Maintain accounting information and contribute to financial systems. Prepare reports and statements as required. Respond to inquiries from management and auditors. Coordinate with examiners during audits. MINIMUM KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES:
Bachelor's Degree in Accounting, Finance, or Economics required; Master’s or CPA/CMA preferred. Minimum 3 years of industry or public accounting experience. Working knowledge of GAAP required. Proficient in Excel, Word, and familiar with systems like Mobius, Frontier, Raft, TM1. Excellent communication, analytical, and relationship-building skills.
