The Retail Engineer supports the Property Operations Team by performing all aspects of building maintenance, including projects, work orders, preventive maintenance, and emergency repairs. They will also assist in the preparation of annual budgets for operating and capital expenditures. What You Will Do
Building Maintenance & Safety Oversight: Monitor and maintain the overall condition of the complex to ensure a safe and functional environment. Perform routine maintenance on heating, lighting, utilities, signage, HVAC, electrical, and plumbing systems. Conduct regular inspections, respond to emergencies, and adhere to fire and life safety standards. Operational Coordination & Tenant Support: Work closely with the Property Manager to maintain an inviting and efficient workspace for tenants and guests. Manage tenant work orders, conduct inspections, and provide guidance on maintenance projects within budget. Oversee contractor proposals and external inspections for specialized repairs and improvements. Administrative & Inventory Management: Maintain accurate records of maintenance activities, work orders, and preventive maintenance schedules using the MRI/Angus Work Order system. Estimate costs, procure materials, and ensure compliance with safety documentation, including MSDS. Track major equipment repairs, utility cut-offs, and inventory to support seamless operations. About You
High School Diploma or equivalent required. 1-3 years experience in a commercial office environment or related industry. HVAC EPA certification preferred. Working knowledge of plumbing, electrical, and HVAC. Basic knowledge of hand tools and understanding of safety. Maintenance Electrician License preferred. SMA-SMT Certification/Training a plus. Familiarity with emerging technologies (e.g., AI and blockchain) to drive innovation and continuous learning. Benefits Built For You
