Job Description and Duties
This position supports the California Department of Public Health’s (CDPH) mission by optimizing data and technology for the California Reportable Disease Information Exchange (CalREDIE) program. The CalREDIE system is used by public health officials and healthcare providers for disease reporting and surveillance. Under the supervision of the Research Scientist Supervisor II, the Research Scientist I (RS I) (Epidemiology/Biostatistics) will assist in designing, developing, and implementing evaluation plans for the surveillance system, perform data analysis, and generate reports. The RS I will liaise with stakeholders to gather feedback on system functionality and create documentation to support system modernization based on user input and vendor collaboration. This position may be eligible for telework, subject to departmental policies. Candidates must reside in California prior to appointment. Travel may be required, with expenses borne by the employee. The headquarters location is specified in the duty statement. Special Requirements
