We are seeking an experienced Accounting Manager to help establish and lead the property’s financial operations. Responsibilities

Direct financial activities of the property, safeguard assets, and prepare all financial reports in accordance with Generally Accepted Accounting Principles.

Provide leadership in the financial area of the property; maintain accurate and timely financial reporting; enforce internal controls and ensure compliance with federal, state, and local regulations.

Oversee, guide, and train the property team while coordinating department deadlines and goals.

Reconcile ledger accounts, including bank statements, assets, liabilities, and credit cards; review and clear balance sheet reconciliations monthly with detailed support.

Prepare monthly journal entries and coordinate the monthly closing process; analyze financial statements and explain variances to budget.

Audit and approve balance sheet and P&L general ledger details; ensure month-end closing is complete and the software is closed on time.

Monitor inventory records to ensure accuracy of supply distribution; liaise with operating departments.

Record hotel revenues, expenses, cash, credit cards, tax exemptions, and statistics to the general ledger daily; maintain accurate postings.

Implement and/or adapt Standard Operating Procedures; train and enforce SOPs across operating departments.

Maintain Deposit and Cash Control worksheets; ensure deposits are processed and reconciled; record other bank debits and credits.

Accounts Receivable processing including timely billing and collections; cash handling controls and auditing of cash banks.

Coordinate internal and external audit processes and ensure compliance; monitor internal financial controls including purchasing, cash handling, disbursements, inventories, hotel assets, and payroll.

Review and complete accurate and timely payroll submissions.

Assist with People and Culture functions such as job postings, onboarding, and document uploads.

Prepare cash flow documents; maintain daily inter-department communication with Sales, Food & Beverage, Front Office, and Reservations.

Maintain and safeguard contracts, licenses, leases, and ensure compliance with their requirements.

Conduct yourself professionally to reflect high standards and train staff accordingly; foster good relationships with all departments, management, and ownership to support internal control and financial advisory.

Identify and resolve problems in a timely manner; gather and analyze information; manage projects and communicate changes and progress; complete projects on time and budget.

Adhere to all policies and procedures; perform all other tasks and duties as assigned.

Qualifications

Any combination of education and experience equivalent to a Bachelor’s degree (B.A.) in a related field.

Minimum 3 years of progressive management experience in the hotel or hospitality industry.

Strong accounting skills with a focus on reconciliation of general ledger accounts.

Advanced proficiency in Excel, including financial modeling skills.

Strong organizational skills and the ability to work independently while managing multiple tasks.

Ability to handle multiple priorities and meet deadlines.

High degree of professional integrity; ability to work safely, effectively, and efficiently.

Flexible schedule to meet the needs of the business, operations, and financial reporting deadlines.
