Leasing Consultant
• Employment type: Full-time Responsibilities
Coordinate all activities related to apartment rentals, move-ins, move-outs, and lease renewals. Interact directly with prospective and current residents to achieve maximum occupancy and ensure resident retention and client satisfaction. Focus on the needs of others by listening, understanding, and showing empathy and respect. Provide excellent customer service to prospective and current residents; generate and handle traffic, qualify prospective residents, lease apartments, prepare lease documentation, and complete move-in paperwork. Ensure model apartments are in touring condition; orient prospective and current residents to the property; process renewal paperwork and deliver documentation monthly. Maintain accurate records of traffic activity and follow up with prospective residents via phone, mail, or email. Convert phone traffic into scheduled appointments for property tours. Inspect apartments prior to move-ins and coordinate move-in/out with the maintenance team to ensure move-in condition. Create and maintain confidential resident files and review move-in paperwork with new residents. Complete weekly leasing reports accurately and on time; follow open/close procedures daily. Assist with ongoing resident relations and respond promptly to requests; compare with competitive properties when appropriate. Inspect buildings and grounds for safety and cleanliness; alert maintenance to items needing repair. Assist with processing work orders and ensure timely completion; provide clerical support as needed (phone, filing, processing invoices). Support planning and implementation of resident activities to increase retention, as needed. Comply with all company policies, safety rules, and applicable laws. Perform other duties as assigned. Education and Experience
High school diploma is required. Minimum of one year of previous sales experience is preferred. One year of previous residential leasing experience is preferred. Skills and Requirements
Excellent customer service and interpersonal skills; ability to relate to others. Prior experience with Yardi Voyager or another equivalent system is preferred. Basic level knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite (Outlook, Word, PowerPoint, Excel). Strong interpersonal skills to communicate with all levels of management; ability to handle confidential matters. Ability to work independently and prioritize in a fast-paced environment with a sense of urgency. Ability to relay technical concerns with adequate detail, quickly and accurately. English reading, writing, listening, and speaking proficiency. Ability to use general office equipment (telephone, fax, printer, copier, key track system). Strong organizational and time-management skills; ability to cope with and defuse difficult situations. Must maintain a valid driver’s license, clean driving record, and current auto insurance. Must comply with all safety requirements. Required to complete and successfully pass the Avenue5 Fair Housing, Diversity and Inclusion Training within the first 30 days of employment.
