Overview

The Accounting Manager supports the Owner/VP by overseeing day-to-day accounting operations and ensuring the accuracy of financial records. This role supervises the Accounts Receivable (AR) and Accounts Payable (AP) Clerks, manages the month-end close process, maintains the chart of accounts, and supports strategic initiatives such as the transition to Microsoft Dynamics 365 Business Central. The position requires exceptional organizational skills, strong technical accounting expertise, leadership, and the ability to provide financial insights to ownership. Responsibilities

Supervise and guide AR and AP Clerks, ensuring timely and accurate processing of transactions. Manage month-end and year-end processes, including account, bank, credit cards and balance sheet reconciliations, journal entries and reporting. Maintain and optimize the chart of accounts to support business needs and accurate reporting for all departments and locations. Track and manage fixed assets, depreciation schedules, and asset records. Input and update inventory items, maintain accurate cost records, and ensure proper valuation of inventory. Process monthly sales tax reports. Prepare cash flow reports, budgets and forecasts to support owners in decision-making. Collaborate with leadership to improve accounting processes, internal controls and financial transparency. Oversee past-due collections with the AR Clerk. Ensure collection of W-9, tax-exempt info, vendor and customer information packets and conduct sales tax calculations. Maintain organized and accurate financial records, both digital and paper. Assist with the implementation and transition to Microsoft Dynamics 365 Business Central, ensuring smooth adoption of processes and controls. Support external audits, tax filings and compliance requirements. Perform other related duties as assigned. Requirements

Knowledge of GAAP and financial data analysis. Ability to use QuickBooks Enterprise to record, store and analyze financial data. Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite; experience with QuickBooks Enterprise or similar software. Strong communication skills (written and oral). Basic understanding of bookkeeping practices and procedures. Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail. Ability to follow verbal and written instructions, establish priorities, take initiative, work independently and meet deadlines. Dependability, thoroughness, accuracy and confidentiality. Education And Experience

Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field (CPA or CMA preferred, but not required). 5+ years of progressive accounting experience, including general ledger and financial reporting. Experience supervising or mentoring accounting staff. Strong understanding of GAAP and internal control practices. Experience with ERP systems (Business Central preferred). Advanced Excel skills and ability to analyze financial data. Excellent communication and organizational skills; ability to work independently, prioritize tasks, and meet deadlines. Knowledge of QuickBooks Enterprise is a plus. Physical Requirements

Prolonged periods sitting at a desk and working on a computer. Must be able to lift up to 15 pounds at a time. Work Environment

Full-time, onsite, Monday – Friday. Standard hours are 8 am – 5 pm.
