We’re seeking an experienced

Chief Inspector

to lead the Mechanical Integrity program for fixed equipment across a portfolio of complex energy facilities. This is a high-impact leadership role responsible for ensuring safe, reliable, and compliant operation of critical assets, while also mentoring the next generation of inspectors and engineers. The Chief Inspector will set the standard for inspection practices, regulatory compliance, and long-term asset integrity strategies—while driving consistency across multiple sites and future growth projects. Key Responsibilities Provide overall leadership and accountability for the company’s Fixed Equipment Mechanical Integrity (FEMI) program. Develop and implement inspection policies, procedures, and best practices that align with industry codes, standards, and regulations. Establish inspection intervals, KPIs, and performance metrics to ensure reliability and continuous improvement. Lead turnaround and outage inspection planning, execution, and follow-up. Conduct and oversee inspections of piping, pressure vessels, and storage tanks; investigate issues and deliver recommendations for continued service. Maintain and manage all inspection data, history, and reports in the company’s asset management system. Train, mentor, and develop engineers and inspectors, fostering technical expertise and a strong safety culture. Collaborate with operations, engineering, and third-party contractors to coordinate inspections and repairs. Act as a liaison with regulatory authorities, industry associations, and external stakeholders. Participate in Management of Change (MOC) processes and ensure proper documentation of all inspection-related activities. Qualifications Minimum 5 years of experience as an owner-user inspector in a refinery, terminal, or similar heavy industrial environment. Strong knowledge of regulatory requirements and proven success leading FEMI programs in complex facilities. Certifications in at least one of the following: API 510 (Pressure Vessels), API 570 (Piping), API 653 (Aboveground Storage Tanks) Deep understanding of non-destructive testing methods, new construction standards, and pressure equipment/piping repair practices. Proficiency with codes and standards such as ASME BPVC, ASME B31.3, API standards, and NBIC. Skilled in reading P&IDs, isometric drawings, and other technical documents. Familiarity with root cause failure analysis (RCFA), API 571 damage mechanisms, OSHA PSM concepts, and Management of Change processes. Strong communication and technical writing skills. Competence with inspection software and Microsoft Office applications. Valid driver’s license; ability to obtain a TWIC card if required. Benefits Medical insurance Vision insurance 401(k)
