Adjunct, College of Education Clinical Experiences . The Adjunct for the College of Education Clinical Experiences plays a role in teaching and supervising students during their placements. This position requires excellence in instruction, mentorship, and collaboration with both university and school site personnel. Adjunct Faculty are expected to be responsive to changing professional needs, committed to innovative instruction, and dedicated to student success. Responsibilities:
Supervise teacher candidates during their field placements, acting as a liaison between the school site and the University. Serve as both an advocate and evaluator for the candidate, sharing responsibilities with the cooperating teacher. Conduct regular meetings with both the teacher candidate and cooperating teacher to monitor progress and ensure program efficacy. Make at least five formal observations throughout the semester, providing formative feedback and suggestions for improvement. Conduct unannounced visits and observations as needed. Teach assigned courses, prepare syllabi and instructional materials, and coordinate at least three seminars per semester, as needed. Utilize university technologies such as Canvas for instruction and communication. Assist in curriculum development when necessary. Requirements:
Master's degree in a related field or at least eighteen (18+) graduate hours or a terminal degree with relevant doctoral-level coursework from a regionally accredited institution. Teaching and mentoring experience. Clinical Educator Training. Knowledge, Skills, & Abilities:
Promote a common purpose consistent with stated University goals and demonstrate a commitment to students and the learning environment. Possess the knowledge of general written standards and procedures utilized, and have the ability to read, interpret, and follow procedural and policy manual related to the job tasks. Demonstrate the ability to respond to supervision, guidance, and direction in a positive, receptive manner and in accordance with stated policies. Provide a professional image in word, action, and attire. Apply effective techniques to create working relationships with others to achieve common goals; successfully communicates and collaborates with others to achieve goals. Demonstrate skills necessary to look at situations and processes critically to make recommendations for improvement. Maintain professional skills through ongoing development and engagement in higher education activities.
