Work week is 37.5 hrs. A great highlight in December is that Marshall University employees receive almost two weeks off for Winter Break! Holidays – Employees receive 13 Paid Holidays Annual and Sick Leave – Classified Staff, Non-Classified Staff and 12-month Faculty earn up to 24 days of annual leave per year (max 360 hours) and up to 18 days of sick leave per year. ) Employee Leave Health Insurance – Marshall University offers health insurance through West Virginia Public Employees Insurance Agency (PEIA). There are seven (7) health benefit plans. Educational/Tuition Benefits – Marshall University provides tuition benefits to regular employees (after probationary period) and their dependent children. Retirement Plans – Marshall University offers retirement through Teachers Insurance and Annuity Association (TIAA). Full-time benefits eligible employees must participate in the mandated retirement plan (401(a)). Life Insurance – Basic term life insurance ($10,000) at no cost and may purchase optional life insurance coverage with pre-tax earnings. The Marshall University Joan C. Edwards School of Medicine Department of Ophthalmology is inviting applications for a full-time academic ophthalmologist specializing in Comprehensive

Ophthalmology. The successful candidate will enjoy a robust clinical practice with academic

responsibilities including the didactic and clinical teaching of medical students and residents. Opportunities to conduct clinical research supported by an institutional trials team exist. This

position includes clinical and surgical activities at our Huntington campus facility. Our faculty

enjoy the benefits of a well-established, expanding department with a collegial atmosphere.

The Marshall University Joan C. Edwards School of Medicine (SOM) is a community-based public medical school dedicated to providing high quality medical education and postgraduate training

programs to foster a skilled physician workforce to meet the unique healthcare needs of West Virginia and Central Appalachia. Its physicians provide the spectrum from primary care to

tertiary care for patients in southwestern West Virginia, eastern Kentucky, and southern Ohio.

Required Qualifications

Education

Qualified candidates must be Board Certified or Board Eligible in Ophthalmology.

Experience

Must be eligible for a full and unrestricted medical license to practice in the state of WV.
