Get to Know This Role The Environmental, Health, Safety, and Security (EHS&S) Manager is responsible for safeguarding our people and operations while enhancing our ability to brew, package, and ship the finest quality beers imaginable. Reporting to the Director of Plant Operations, the EHS&S Manager ensures the organization is compliant with federal, state, and local safety and environmental requirements. This position's primary functions are to oversee and develop, implement, and monitor environmental, health, safety, and security programs for our employees, guests, and the facility. Success is gauged by compliance with regulatory requirements and by reducing or preventing injuries, hazards, and spills. What You Will Do
Design, implement, and continuously improve site health and safety programs that prevent injuries and illnesses, including behavior-based safety, risk assessments, job hazard analysis, ergonomics, and safety work permitting. Drive employee engagement and ownership of safety culture through proactive leadership, coaching, and visibility on the floor. Partner with operations, sales, and guest-facing leadership to integrate safety standards into all areas. Develop and implement a safety management system that aligns with ISO 18001 and OSHA VPP Star Program. Program elements include: hazard analysis, ergonomics, emergency response and planning, spill prevention and hazardous waste, emissions, contractor safety, confined space, hot work, and safety and environmental program training. Direct, manage, train the site safety, environmental, and security teams in their performance, aligned with organizational goals, prioritization of work, and coaching for effective performance. Ensure compliance with OSHA, EPA, DOT, and state/local environmental and safety regulations as well as company policies and sustainability goals. Remain current on EHS regulations and laws. Lead site internal audit program for safety and environmental systems. Ensure corrective and preventative actions are taken. Represent the safety and environmental programs to external auditors when necessary. Maintain appropriate safety, health, and environmental records. Ensure all reports are filed and maintained (OSHA 300, 300A, and 301 Logs, TOSCA, SWPPP, Tier II, emissions inventories, and state DEQ/DAQ submissions). Manage the environmental safety and security site budget. Perform other duties as required.
What You Have
Bachelor’s Degree in safety science/engineering/industrial hygiene or an equivalent combination of education and experience. 5 years of experience in a manufacturing environment with a focus in environmental, health, safety, and security, and 3 years of managerial or supervisory experience. Progressive leadership experience preferred; experience developing and implementing environmental and safety policies, programs, and training preferred. Comprehensive knowledge of federal, state, and local environmental, health, and safety regulations (OSHA, EPA, DOT, and state DEQ/DAQ). Experience developing and implementing management systems that meet ISO 45001 and ISO 14001 standards, including policies, objectives, risk assessment processes, and internal audit frameworks. Demonstrated ability to lead cultural transformation in safety and sustainability through engagement, communication, and collaboration with all levels of the organization. Strong problem solving and risk assessment skills; proficiency in risk assessment methodologies (JHA, HAZOP, FMEA, What-If) and behavior-based safety programs. Understanding of environmental management systems, including waste, water, air, energy programs, sustainability reporting, and resource conservation. Ability to understand and execute processes, communicate process changes, and develop KPIs to identify areas of improvement. Strong project management and documentation control abilities to build auditable systems, standard work, and continuous improvement documentation for ISO certification or third-party audits. Ability to influence and collaborate across departments to integrate EHS&S principles into daily operations and strategic decisions. Strong digital and analytical capability with proficiency in Microsoft 365 applications (Power BI, Power Apps, Word, Excel) to design dashboards, automate reporting, and translate EHS&S performance data into actionable insights. Working knowledge of manufacturing practices, processes, and risks. Flexible scheduling as needed; excellent communication and customer service skills.
Certification preferences: CSP, OSHA 30-Hour General Industry, First Aid/CPR/AED, HAZWOPER, and ISO 45001/ISO 14001 Lead Auditor certifications. Preference given to those with related certifications.
