The Supervisor will ensure that the products and services provided by the Site Services departments including utilities generation/distribution, wastewater treatment, liquids and solids incineration, air emissions control, and solvent recovery/distribution meet all customer requirements with regards to quality, timeliness, and cost. The Supervisor is accountable to ensure that the equipment and processes necessary to provide these products and services are operated in a safe and reliable manner.
Responsibilities
Performance and Development: Improve direct reports’ performance through coaching, feedback, and training. Develop technical, interpersonal, and transferable skills, focusing on strengths and growth areas.
Team Management and HR: Set and meet expectations, handle HR activities (shift assignments, vacation planning, talent assessment, reviews, performance ratings, merit delivery), ensure accurate time entry, and adequate coverage for off time.
Communication and Goals: Communicate and support departmental/site goals, objectives, and results. Promote functional relationships through thoughtful communication.
Conflict Resolution and Support: Resolve conflicts to prevent harm to people, relationships, or processes. Support departmental/site goals and their implementation.
Customer and Process Management: Manage product and service needs efficiently and cost-effectively. Oversee process areas (quality, safety, environmental, equipment, materials), improve processes, reduce costs, and enhance safety.
Leadership and Training: Complete required training, seek additional data to lead effectively, serve as lead investigator, change owner, and subject matter expert. Lead by example.
Support and Advocacy: Understand site and Evonik priorities, support management decisions, advocate for change initiatives, and drive continuous improvement, equipment reliability, and digitalization.
Commitment and Improvement: Be devoted to Evonik, your department, and team members. Drive continuous improvement within the area, department, and site, ensuring commitment to the organization.
Requirements
High School Diploma and 5 years of leadership experience.
Proven leadership in coaching/mentoring for performance improvement and fostering a positive, productive work environment.
Flexible work schedule management with strong organizational, planning, and prioritization skills.
Effective group leadership towards common objectives with strong verbal, written, and listening communication skills.
Effective conflict resolution and knowledge of cGMP operations.
Proficiency in Word, Excel, PowerPoint, SAP, and DCS (or similar systems).
Focus on continuous improvement and results-oriented initiatives, leveraging experience and training to achieve goals.
Accurate analytical skills with strong problem-solving, troubleshooting abilities, and mechanical aptitude.
Ability to work in a regulated environment.
