Role: Information Technology Professionals — Northrop Grumman Classified Solutions team seeks a senior Linux Systems Administrator to join its dynamic team of technical professionals. The qualified applicant will become part of Northrop Grumman’s Aeronautics Systems support team in Melbourne, FL. Note: Due to the classified nature of the work, this position does not offer virtual or telecommute options. Applicants should be willing to work on-site. Responsibilities
Monitor and report HPC system health/metrics. Identify performance bottlenecks. Modify system-wide parameters to improve performance and evaluate the effects of those changes. Perform HPC technical planning, system integration, verification and validation, cost and risk evaluation, and supportability analyses. Manage HPC system life cycle: concept, design, installation, test, operation, maintenance, and disposal. Assist software developers and engineers in installing, debugging, and optimizing their software in the HPC environment. Support technical users running analysis on HPC systems. Collaborate with Security and follow guidelines to ensure cybersecurity policy compliance. Scan, patch, and harden the computing environment to meet customer requirements. Collect, audit, and store necessary log data for the system. Develop artifacts to support assessment and authorization of the system. Basic Qualifications
For Level 3: Master’s Degree with 3 years of experience; OR a Bachelor’s Degree with 5 years; OR an Associate’s Degree with 7 years; OR a High School Diploma with 9 years of experience Security+ CE or higher; maintaining certification required Current DoD Secret clearance (or higher); ability to obtain/maintain a Top Secret clearance as a condition of employment Ability to obtain access to Special Programs as a condition of employment Experience configuring, administering, and maintaining Red Hat or other Linux systems Experience operating in NISPOM Chapter 8, DCID 6/3-ICD 503, RMF, STIG, JAFAN, or JSIG environments Experience contributing to HPC architecture and design For Level 4: Master’s Degree with 6 years of experience; OR a Bachelor’s Degree with 8 years; OR an Associate’s Degree with 10 years; OR a High School Diploma with 12 years of experience Security+ CE or higher; maintaining certification required Current DoD Secret clearance (or higher); ability to obtain/maintain Top Secret clearance Ability to obtain access to Special Programs Experience configuring, administering, and maintaining Red Hat or other Linux systems Experience operating in NISPOM Chapter 8, DCID 6/3-ICD 503, RMF, STIG, JAFAN, or JSIG environments Experience contributing to HPC architecture and design Preferred Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree in Information Technology Active Top Secret, TS/SCI, Polygraph, or SAP/SAR access would be nice to have 10 years of Server Administration in a classified environment (Active Directory and Group Policy) Understanding of HPC system design and network architecture (Ethernet, Infiniband) Programming or scripting experience (C, Fortran, Python, or Bash) Experience building and maintaining HPC systems and running scalable distributed applications Experience with storage clusters and/or parallel file systems Hands-on HPC hardware diagnostics and repair Familiarity with software compilation processes (compilers, GNU Make, CMake) Knowledge of cybersecurity requirements, JSIG and STIG Compensation and Benefits
Salary ranges: Primary Level $86,600.00 – $130,000.00; Secondary Level $107,800.00 – $161,800.00. These ranges are guidelines and may be adjusted based on scope, responsibilities, experience, and market conditions. Overtime, shift differential, and discretionary bonuses may apply.
