Bridge Project Engineer

to support our

Southwest Region

located in

Texas . What you will be doing

Perform/supervise calculations and analysis for designing bridge and transportation structures using various bridge design software programs Perform/supervise load ratings on bridges of various type size and complexity Review calculations and design details developed by others Attend meetings with clients and other professionals and organizations Develop solutions to challenges presented by the client within budget, schedule, and project constraints Review construction related submittals Organize and maintain project files Supervising and mentoring Structural EITs and Interns Assist with marketing bridge and structure design work What you need to have

Bachelor’s Degree in Civil or Structural Engineering Master of Engineering preferred, but not required Valid Professional Engineering Licensure (P.E.) 6 to 9 years of engineering experience in bridge design TxDOT experience strongly preferred Skilled in the use of OpenBridge Designer Technical expertise for the layout and design of bridges and related highway structures Familiarity with rehabilitation of existing bridges and highway structures Knowledge of AASHTO and other pertinent bridge design specifications Familiarity with TxDOT bridge standards and design manuals strongly preferred Ability to pass a pre-employment drug screening to ensure a safe and productive work environment. Federal regulations may differ from state guidelines Valid driver’s license A satisfactory motor vehicle report (MVR) Characteristics of a successful Volkert team member:
