Gastrointestinal Medical Oncology Faculty (Assistant Professor)

role at Baylor College of Medicine. The Department of Medicine, Section of Hematology and Oncology, seeks a board-certified or board-eligible medical oncologist with a focus in gastrointestinal (GI) malignancies to join the Dan L Duncan Comprehensive Cancer Center (DLDCCC) at the McNair Campus. The successful candidate will provide multidisciplinary, patient-centered care and contribute to the center's clinical and translational research programs. Responsibilities

Initial faculty appointment (first three years) includes 80% clinical effort through Baylor Medicine (outpatient clinic and inpatient service) and 20% protected time for research. At full ramp-up, clinical responsibilities will include 5-6 half-day clinics per week and 6-8 weeks of inpatient service annually at Baylor St. Luke\'s Medical Center. Opportunities to reduce clinical effort with extramural funding are available. Provide multidisciplinary, patient-centered GI oncology care and contribute to ongoing clinical and translational research initiatives within the DLDCCC. Minimum Qualifications

MD or MD/PhD degree. BC/BE in Hematology and/or Oncology. Eligible for a Texas medical license and DEA certification. Demonstrated proficiency in clinical documentation and billing. Experience or strong interest in clinical trials and translational research in GI cancers. About the Center

The DLDCCC is an NCI-designated comprehensive cancer center affiliated with Baylor St. Luke\'s Medical Center, Ben Taub Hospital, the Michael E. DeBakey VA Medical Center, and Texas Children\'s Hospital. The O\'Quinn Medical Tower offers state-of-the-art facilities including radiology, radiation oncology, endoscopy, and an 80-bed infusion center with a dedicated Phase I unit. The DLDCCC supports over $130 million in annual cancer-related research funding, including more than $44 million from the NCI. Faculty benefit from access to six funded research programs and ten disease-specific working groups; CPRIT recruitment awards are available on a competitive basis. Application Process
