Job Description The Department of Ophthalmology at the University of Florida College of Medicine-Jacksonville seeks to add a full-time Comprehensive Ophthalmologist at the non-tenure level of Clinical Assistant/Associate Professor. Major responsibilities include providing excellence in patient care, teaching, and, if desired, clinical research contributing to a diverse academic eye practice.

About the Department and Practice The Department of Ophthalmology at the University of Florida College of Medicine-Jacksonville seeks to add a full-time Comprehensive Ophthalmologist at the non-tenure level of Clinical Assistant/Associate Professor. Major responsibilities include providing excellence in patient care, teaching, and, if desired, clinical research contributing to a diverse academic eye practice. The department includes cornea and external disease, glaucoma, anterior segment surgery, diseases of the retina, uveitis, ocular tumors, oculoplastic and orbital surgery, neuro-ophthalmology, contact lenses, low vision and electrophysiology. It is a multi-specialty, single-location academic practice with a robust clinical volume and its own ophthalmology-specific surgery center adjacent to clinical offices. The department is open to candidates' interests and career paths, welcoming both experienced staff and recent graduates. Hiring and appointment are through the University of Florida, with excellent benefits including health care, retirement, and paid leave. The compensation structure is competitive and commensurate with experience. UF Health Jacksonville is the largest UF campus outside Gainesville, with more than 6,200 faculty and staff; more than 650,000 outpatient visits and more than 40,000 inpatient admissions annually.

Candidates should have a MD/DO and have completed residency training in ophthalmology.
