The University of Colorado School of Dental Medicine invites qualified applications for part-time per-diem faculty positions. Duties include clinical and didactic teaching. The distribution of activities and responsibilities is determined by the Department Chair based on School needs, and duties may change over time.
Posting Status:
Open rank position; could be categorized as Assistant Professor, Associate Professor, or Professor based on experience and qualifications. Rank determination is made during the interview process.
Responsibilities
Clinical and didactic teaching duties as assigned by the Department Chair.
Participate in patient care, case presentations, and department activities as needed.
Engage in ongoing professional development and evidence-based teaching practices.
Contribute to a diverse and inclusive learning environment.
Minimum Qualifications Assistant Professor - Clinical
DDS/DMD degree from a CODA accredited US Dental School or foreign equivalent
Eligible to be licensed in Colorado
Experience in treating complex dental cases, medically complex patients, and/or patients requiring multidisciplinary care (dependent upon the dental specialty)
Clinical, scholarly, and/or academic record consistent with the appointment level
Associate Professor - Clinical
DDS/DMD degree from a CODA accredited US Dental School or foreign equivalent
Eligible to be licensed in Colorado
Experience in treating complex dental cases, medically complex patients, and/or patients requiring multidisciplinary care (dependent upon the dental specialty)
Clinical, scholarly, and/or academic record consistent with the appointment level
Professor - Clinical
DDS/DMD degree from a CODA accredited US Dental School or foreign equivalent
Eligible to be licensed in Colorado
Experience in treating complex dental cases, medically complex patients, and/or patients requiring multidisciplinary care (dependent upon the dental specialty)
Clinical, scholarly, and/or academic record consistent with the appointment level
Preferred Qualifications
Completion of a CODA approved Dental Specialty and/or General Practice Residency
Dental specialty board eligibility for candidates with a specialty
Board certification and prior teaching experience (preferred)
Experience treating complex dental cases, medically complex patients, and/or patients requiring multidisciplinary care
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities
Outstanding interpersonal communication skills; ability to work independently and within diverse teams
Commitment to patient privacy and safety
Motivated, engaged, and empathetic toward patients with dental care issues and pain
Attention to detail and quality notables
Professionalism and confidentiality in documentation
Dedication to professional development and lifelong learning
Adaptability and flexibility; ability to think on your feet
Commitment to evidence-based teaching and practice
