Tulane University School of Medicine The Assistant Professor (research track) position will focus on providing high-level expertise in pharmacology principles, theories, concepts, methods, and techniques to design studies, manage projects, and carry out investigations. This position is expected to maintain an independent research program in your area of expertise, establish the laboratory, hire experienced staff, and generate data for publishing papers as a senior author. Responsibilities include manuscript writing, submitting progress reports to funding agencies, and maintaining laboratory records. The goal is to acquire extramural funding and expand collaboration with departmental colleagues. The candidate will be involved in teaching graduate and medical students and providing service to the department and university by serving on committees and in other capacities. The successful candidate will supervise students and laboratory technicians, with specific duties and effort distribution in teaching, research, and service determined by the Department Chair and subject to change based on departmental needs.
