Position overview and application details are described below. The Center of Microbiome Science (CoMS) invites applications for a tenure-track position at the Assistant or Associate Professor level in microbiome science. Overview

The search seeks candidates whose research on microbiomes—across ecosystems, host-associated or environmental, and across organisms (microbial eukaryotes, prokaryotes, viruses, or combinations) and approaches (wet-lab and/or computational)—advances foundational understanding of microbial communities. Successful candidates will be appointed to either the Department of Microbiology or the Department of Evolution, Ecology, and Organismal Biology within the College of Arts and Sciences and will be connected with CoMS and its programs. Responsibilities

Develop and maintain an externally funded, nationally-visible and productive research program. Teach courses at the undergraduate and graduate level. Demonstrate excellence in student mentorship. Support departmental and CoMS operations as an active citizen through service on committees, project assignments, and/or administrative leadership roles. Education And Experience Requirements

Required:

Ph.D. in a relevant field (microbiology, biochemistry, evolution, ecology); postdoctoral training; a record of peer-reviewed research. Desired:

Track record as a mentor; experience with interdisciplinary research and/or genome-resolved microbiome science; evidence of independence. How To Apply
