Candidates for all teaching positions must demonstrate a strong desire to excel in teaching and provide ongoing support for student success in the virtual classroom. Candidates should possess at least a Master’s degree in Sociology or an MSW (for social services classes). Desired areas of specialty in Sociology: health, aging, and social services courses. Other specialty areas considered. Job Description Indiana University East invites applications for Online Adjunct positions in Sociology, beginning August 1, 2025. Applicants should demonstrate a strong commitment to teaching excellence and student success in the online post-secondary classroom. Requirements include a Master’s degree in Sociology or an MSW for social services courses. Desired areas of specialty in Sociology include health, aging, and social services; other specialties will be considered. Characteristic Duties and Responsibilities Communicate subject matter clearly, correctly, and effectively. Use methods, materials, and technology appropriate to the subject matter. Manage the learning environment by keeping accurate records, submitting grades and reports on time, and enforcing campus academic policies. Collect assessment data. Demonstrate the ability to develop a professional rapport with diverse populations within the university and community. Maintain a consistent instructor presence in virtual classroom spaces. Communicate with students regularly and promptly. Application Process This posting announces future anticipated teaching opportunities.
