Overview

A Postdoctoral position is available in the Department of Imaging Physics- Research. The laboratory focuses on developing advanced imaging techniques to better understand the tumor microenvironment and investigate new cancer therapeutics, particularly for tumors that are difficult to treat or resistant to traditional therapies. The lab has experience with preclinical cancer models and imaging techniques including iron- and fluorine-19-magnetic resonance imaging (MRI), magnetic particle imaging (MPI), optical imaging, ultrasound and computed tomography. A major focus is expanding the application of MPI in cancer research. The trainee will design and execute experiments using preclinical cancer models (in vitro and in vivo), contribute to data analysis and interpretation, and disseminate research findings through abstracts, conference presentations, and manuscript preparation for publication. Responsibilities

Design and perform experiments using preclinical cancer models (in vitro and in vivo). Analyze and interpret imaging data across multiple modalities (MRI, MPI, optical imaging, ultrasound, CT). Contribute to manuscript preparation and presentation of research findings at conferences. Disseminate results through abstracts, talks, and publications in peer‑reviewed journals. Learning Objectives

Develop expertise in imaging techniques, cancer models, the tumor microenvironment, and cancer therapeutics. Use imaging to target specific cell populations or validate development and use of novel cancer therapeutics. Qualifications

Ph.D. or equivalent doctorate (e.g., Sc.D., M.D., D.V.M.) in a relevant field, within three years of completion, seeking a temporary, full-time, laboratory-based research or scholarship appointment in preparation for an academic or research career as an independent investigator. Appointment is not part of a clinical training program; individuals holding an M.D. or equivalent are not permitted to engage in patient care activities. Ph.D. in natural sciences, computer science, applied mathematics, engineering, or related fields, or a medical degree. Additional Application Information

Applicants should have earned a Ph.D. in one of the natural sciences, computer sciences, applied mathematics, engineering, or related fields, or a medical degree. Position Information

The position offers full-time postdoc employment with salary range $64,000 to $76,000, depending on number of years of postgraduate experience. Benefits include medical, dental, paid time off, retirement, tuition benefits, educational opportunities, and recognition programs. Offsite work arrangements are subject to approval and may be modified or revoked based on business needs, performance considerations, or regulatory requirements. Equal employment opportunity is provided without regard to race, color, religion, age, national origin, sex, gender, sexual orientation, gender identity/expression, disability, protected veteran status, genetic information, or any other basis protected by applicable policy or law.
