Data Science Analyst wanted by Valley National Bank d/b/a Valley Bank in Morristown, New Jersey. Position may be performed remotely from anywhere in the U.S. Responsibilities
Serve as a subject matter expert (SME) for SAP Business Objects and FIS BIC data model. Leverage expertise to analyze IBS data and build reports and analytics for business customers on data domains such as customer information, loan origination and processing, deposits, etc. Partner with business users across the bank to challenge assumptions of reporting requests; provide insights into how data can satisfy requests and offer recommendations to requestors; analyze complex data sets to drive solutions that enhance performance in line with strategic objectives and allow users to make data-driven decisions. Act as one of the few resources with the skillset to create extracts and reports to satisfy regulatory, compliance, and audit requirements. Develop and execute a data remediation approach that assesses the requirement for each data domain while considering potential downstream effects to minimize disruptions. Participate in data mapping initiatives and bridge gaps between business requirements, technical feasibility, and time constraints. Lead testing efforts for SAP Business Objects upgrade and migration to new data center; create comprehensive test plans, evaluate updates, and troubleshoot issues with cross-functional resources. Create extracts to support combined bankwide processes ahead of conversion; document business rules and definitions, maintain data architecture and field mapping files for systems such as NCino, PrecisionLender, Abrigo and Agiletics to ensure accurate data management and support the ability to leverage these extracts post-conversion. Support bank-wide reporting by maintaining SharePoint repository, scheduling reports, troubleshooting and starting jobs, and triaging issues in a timely manner. Establish data governance processes in preparation for the integration between Bank Leumi USA and Valley Bank systems. Communicate complex issues and risks to both technical and non-technical stakeholders to ensure that technical solutions meet business needs. Collaborate with leadership and internal partners on data, reporting, and analytics initiatives; educate teams on IBS data model, extract intricacies, and troubleshoot issues as required. Requirements: Master's Degree (or foreign equivalent) in Computer Science, Information Technology and Analytics or a closely related field plus 2 years of experience in the job offered or closely related. Also requires 2 years of experience with the following (which may have been gained concurrently): Data Analysis and Reporting Business Intelligence SQL Programming OR Bachelor's Degree (or foreign equivalent) in Computer Science, Information Technology, and Analytics or a closely related field plus 5 years of post-baccalaureate progressive experience in the job offered or closely related.
