Credit One Bank Credit One Bank is looking for an Assistant Vice President for Platform Engineering. This position will be hands-on, providing direction and oversight to direct reports and other stakeholders. The focus of this position and span of responsibility will be to extend full deployment automation, configuration management, and technical release management. This individual will lead teams that deliver projects related to Platform Engineering. Responsibilities include all areas of project management including project schedule, cost, resource utilization, deliverable quality, and risk/issue resolution. Summary Of Essential Job Functions Lead a team of Platform Engineers in completing business initiatives and projects while meeting milestones and deadlines. Deal with many aspects of project management using agile methodologies and maintain a high standard of quality control. Responsible for delivering and maintaining modern pipelines for production and lower environments. Oversee the development, implementation, security, and maintenance of deployments bridging the gap between development, cloud engineering, and platform engineering. Report on project status to stakeholders and provide visibility of identified issues or blockers, determining root causes, and providing short-term and long-term solutions. Build and maintain application configuration management for lower environments and production in support of clear visibility of code and configuration changes as they progress to production. Build knowledge management practices and collect interdependency information for internal and external applications. Research, recommend, and deploy new tools and technologies beneficial to increase productivity and reduce technical debt. Review and approve change control requests making sure that the team complies with the change control process. Collaborate with various teams and vendors on numerous projects and initiatives. Extend CMDB to augment containerized environments and applications. Oversee training and development of direct reports. Include on-call responsibilities and working maintenance windows. Perform other duties as assigned. Position Requirements BS degree in Computer Science and a minimum of 8+ years as a Cloud/Platform Engineer or similar technical discipline. 2+ years of leadership experience in information technology Extensive experience with scripting languages along with configuration management, automation, and orchestration tools such as Jenkins or other similar platforms. Experience in designing, building, securing, and managing automation pipelines using modern source code mgmt. technologies. Demonstrated experience with the majority of the following technologies or equivalent: OpenShift, AWS, Jenkins, Nginx, Apache Tomcat and Apache HTTP. Experience using Jira and knowledge of SCRUM and Kanban. Able to utilize version control tools like Git along with a strong understanding of merging and branching code. Preferred Experience with monitoring and alerting tools such as Dynatrace, Solarwinds, or similar. Excellent critical thinking and problem-solving skills.
