Systems Analyst for Preparing and Retaining Educators through Partnerships (PREP) Allotment Data (Systems Analyst V) – Texas Education Agency. Mission: The Texas Education Agency (TEA) will improve outcomes for all public-school students in the state by providing leadership, guidance, and support to school systems. Flexible work location within the state of Texas may be considered for qualified candidates. This is a 10-day posting that will close on October 17, 2025 at 11:59pm. Position Overview

The Division of Educator Data, Research, and Strategy (EDRS) provides analytical leadership and support for departments within the Office of Educator Systems and Support. The PREP Allotment sub-group sits within the EDRS-EPCE unit. The Systems Analyst for PREP Allotment plays a critical role in delivering usable, timely data required for PREP Allotment programs, mandated from House Bill 2 (89th legislative session). The role uses SAS, SQL, Power BI, Excel, Smartsheet, Visual Basic, and related tools to ensure strong data collection practices and transparent communication with internal and external stakeholders. The analyst collaborates with TEA teams to build requirements and improve data infrastructure, designs and executes QA processes, and communicates data related to ESAs and other initiatives. The role requires the ability to manage projects with limited supervision and moderate independence. PREP Allotment Data Coordination: Design, implement, update, document, and standardize processes related to PREP Allotment data; write and revise SQL queries and SAS programs; use Visual Basic, Excel, Citrix ShareFile, and Microsoft Word to share data and document requirements; manage work independently with minimal oversight. Subject Matter Expert for ECOS IT: Act as SME for Educator Certification Online System; provide requirements to improve data reliability; coordinate with IT and EPCE units using Jira and Microsoft Azure; prioritize work and ensure data tables are usable and valid. PREP Allotment Data Infrastructure: Develop and improve data infrastructure for reception, storage, packaging, and transmission of PREP Allotment data (SharePoint, AWS, ShareFile, Smartsheet, and Microsoft Office); produce and store data in the EDRS-EPCE data warehouse. Quality Assurance: Conduct quality reviews of data products; act on team feedback to improve data and visualizations; perform quality control for websites using Drupal/HTML where applicable. Minimum Qualifications

Education: Graduation from an accredited four-year college or university Experience: At least four (4) years of experience in systems analysis and design Substitutions: An advanced degree may substitute for two years of required experience Other Qualifications
