Office 365 . Pay Range: $30-$45/hr. W2 . Salary may be negotiable based on experience, education, geographic location, and other factors. Duties

The Desktop Engineer is skilled in many areas of desktop computing platforms. Designs, configures, installs, monitors, and maintains desktop software, hardware, peripherals and other Endpoint devices and services (e.g., mobile phones, printers, tablets). Evaluates, tests, and implements new desktop computing technology. Implements and maintains automated software delivery solutions and computer imaging. Documents solutions to problems and develops end-user guidelines. Provides training for hardware and software solutions. Enables the business through standardized technology, delivering tools and capabilities, and piloting new technologies. Consults with the business and makes hardware/software recommendations. Interaction with multiple business segments and IT impact awareness is essential. Provides technical support to the Service Desk and Desktop teams. Works with vendors and IT departments to resolve incidents and requests. Troubleshoots complex problems and delivers exceptional customer service at all levels. Keeps abreast of IT developments related to endpoint hardware and software to support the organization. Works with Service Desk staff, IT Infrastructure and Operations, IT Applications, and users as a SME to resolve incidents and requests in compliance with standards and SLAs. Demonstrates professionalism when working with customers, team members and management. Responsibilities by Area

End User Administration & Support – 40%

Manage user accounts, network access, email, and group memberships. Configure and maintain network printers, file access, group mailboxes, and security. Manage Exchange mailboxes, distribution lists, and public folders. Secure and manage endpoints through Intune and SCCM. Provide technical support to Service Desk & Desktop teams. Coordinate with vendors/IT departments to resolve application and hardware issues. Perform advanced troubleshooting; escalate to senior staff as needed. Document problems and procedures; update knowledge base and guidelines. Support facility and remote users globally. Monitor ticketing systems via phone and in person. Provide 3rd level support; identify root causes and strategic solutions. Educate users on endpoint hardware/software. Participate in on-call rotation for after-hours/weekend support.

Desktop System Design and Build – 30%

Collaborate to understand requirements; design, configure, and implement desktop hardware/software solutions. Evaluate and recommend software/hardware; work with vendor support on issues. Develop and implement imaging services, endpoint security, backup solutions, and automation. Create and maintain process/procedure documents and knowledge base articles for endpoint issues. Stay current with emerging technologies and trends related to IT endpoints/desktop services.

Project & Process Management – 30%

Lead endpoint/desktop projects per business plan. Coordinate project implementations and deployment timelines. Develop budget proposals and funding requests. Coordinate with vendors for ordering and procurement of hardware/software.

Education, Experience, Knowledge & Skills

Education (highest level, must be job-related): High School Diploma or GED Associate’s Degree Bachelor’s Degree Professional Certification Experience Requirements At least 3 years of full-time experience or equivalent in desktop/endpoint services. System support for client hardware platforms (e.g., Dell, HP, Lenovo). System and application support for Microsoft client platforms. Visual Basic, Batch scripting, and PowerShell. Experience with Microsoft, Dell, McAfee, Citrix and Zscaler technologies. Ability to work independently with minimal supervision and to research problems to find root causes. Required Skills Strong verbal and written communication skills. Ability to work with little supervision and adapt to changing priorities. Proficiency in Business Acumen. Technical proficiency – SKILLED. Minimum 3 years’ experience supporting Microsoft solutions and modern operating systems. Experience with SCCM, Microsoft Intune, and Autopilot. Experience with Microsoft Entra ID (Azure AD) and Active Directory. Experience with enterprise printers and print management. Knowledge of Microsoft Teams Administration and Teams room management. Excellent customer service and communication skills. Advanced understanding of networking and PC architecture. Advanced knowledge of Microsoft 365.
