Petroplan
Petroplan is seeking a skilled Project Engineer to support the expansion of a world-class LNG facility in Corpus Christi, TX. Local candidates only as there is no per diem offered.
Position Overview:
This role offers an exciting opportunity to lead multidisciplinary engineering projects supporting major LNG operations. While a background in
civil or structural engineering
is preferred, candidates from
other engineering disciplines
with relevant project experience are encouraged to apply. Key Responsibilities: Manage and oversee the work of contract engineers assigned under the lead position. Lead a portfolio of projects and provide input into the site’s 5-year CAPEX plan. Manage all phases of project development and execution with a focus on safety, quality, and performance. Coordinate cross-functional teams through all project phases, including process design, FEED, detailed engineering, procurement, cost and schedule control, construction, and commissioning. Lead multidisciplinary teams of engineers, designers, and contractors to deliver successful project outcomes. Ensure technical integrity and compliance with project scope, specifications, and applicable standards. Support and utilize the Management of Change (MOC) process for capital projects and facility modifications. Deliver projects that ensure safe, reliable, and efficient LNG operations—on time and within budget. Participate in regulatory audits and promote safety and environmental awareness across all project activities. Collaborate with Operations, Engineering, Construction, Compliance, and Regulatory teams to align project objectives with operational needs. Conduct site walk-downs to support project development and execution planning. Participate in equipment factory and site acceptance testing (FATs/SATs). Support documentation management and project closeout processes. Qualifications: Bachelor’s degree in
Engineering
(Civil, Structural, Mechanical, Electrical, Chemical, or related discipline). Professional Engineer (PE)
license preferred. 10–12 years of experience in the
oil and gas or LNG sector , with proven success managing and executing large-scale engineering projects. Strong knowledge of relevant design codes, engineering standards, and safety/environmental regulations. Demonstrated ability to lead multidisciplinary teams and manage complex project portfolios. Preferred Background: Experience in
civil/structural engineering
within LNG, petrochemical, or related industrial environments.
