The primary location of this position is on the main Cullowhee, NC campus. This is a nine-month, tenure-track position at the rank of Assistant Professor. The successful candidate should have an interest and commitment to teaching at both undergraduate and graduate levels, scholarship, and professional service to the university and region. Many faculty pursue scholarship and application-focused research with external clients through our Rapid Center. For more information on the School of Engineering + Technology please visit set.wcu.edu. All engineering and engineering technology programs are accredited by ABET\'s EAC and ETAC, respectively. The college has been recognized by U.S. News and World Report as a top tier Undergraduate Engineering program for the past several years. Programs in the school have a strong emphasis on applied, Project-Based Learning (PBL) with industry experience of the faculty. Applicants with laboratory, design and build project experience are highly desired. The successful candidate should have a commitment to excellence in teaching and applied scholarship, based on the Boyer model of Scholarship. Successful applicants will have proven excellence, or potential, in teaching, scholarship, service, and a commitment to diversity, equity, and inclusion. Many opportunities for service exist both inside and outside the university. Applicants should have an interest and be able to teach at the Bachelor\'s and Master\'s levels including thesis supervision and laboratory instruction. Applicants should have an interest to teach at the undergraduate and/or graduate level in one or more of the following areas: Power Systems, Electric Machines, Power Electronics, Grid Integration. Minimum Qualifications A minimum of three years of relevant, full-time industry experience, or documented equivalent, as an engineer and/or scientist/researcher. A PhD in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, or a closely related field, is required prior to the starting date.
