Inova Mount Vernon Hospital is seeking a dedicated MRI Safety Officer to join their team. This is a full-time position with day shifts from Monday to Friday, including evening coverage as needed, and night and weekend on-call rotations. Sign-on bonus and relocation assistance are available.
Responsibilities include:
Ensuring MRI safety policies and procedures are followed and enforced.
Providing clinical services according to MRI standards and acting as a resource for staff and students.
Demonstrating proper MRI techniques, including IV contrast injections, and maintaining safety practices.
Communicating effectively with patients to obtain history, consent, and provide reassurance.
Accurately tracking and identifying patients and their images.
Minimum Requirements:
Graduate of an accredited radiography or MRI training program, with MRI registration through ARRT, ARMRIT, or CAMRT.
Must obtain MRSO certification within one year of hire.
Basic Life Support certification from the American Heart Association.
At least 5 years of MRI technologist experience in a hospital or outpatient setting.
Availability for on-call rotations, including nights and weekends.
