Overview
Hybrid Elementary/Middle Social Studies/History Teacher at Friendship Public Charter School. This role supports anticipated vacancies in the 2025-2026 school year. Work primarily virtually as part of Friendship’s Online Academy team, with periodic in-person requirements for testing, check-and-connect sessions, field trips, in-person tutoring, professional development, and other activities. In-person days vary by month. Create a virtual classroom culture of high achievement and student ownership of learning, supporting students’ intellectual, social and emotional development. Provide daily instruction with clear learning outcomes, well-designed lessons and high-quality assessments aligned to Friendship’s curriculum and standards. Incorporate creative, hands-on learning experiences that broaden students’ exposure and interests and require application of knowledge and skills. Maintain a visually appealing classroom environment rich with resources aligned to curriculum and standards; showcase exemplary student work. Communicate with students to understand their talents, interests and needs and to convey learning expectations and progress. Maintain regular communication with families to share student achievements and progress. Collaborate with school-based staff and across the Friendship network through staff meetings, data analysis sessions and professional development to improve learning outcomes. Operate in a hybrid capacity when applicable, with a schedule that may include several in-person days per week and virtual days, in coordination with colleagues, scholars, and learning coaches. In-person activities are required as scheduled. Salary scales available: FPCS Compensation. Qualifications
Experience in the role preferred Bachelor’s degree from an accredited university Excellent verbal and written communication skills Successful completion of the Praxis II Exam in social studies or history One year of teaching experience with results demonstrating high student achievement and significant growth Preferred Qualifications
Master’s degree in history or a related field Undergraduate GPA of 3.0 or higher Evidence of ongoing professional development and/or continuing education Two years of teaching experience with results demonstrating high student achievement and significant growth Praxis Information
