You're an experienced senior level systems administrator with deep Microsoft expertise who will focus exclusively on security projects and initiatives rather than routine administrative duties. You'll leverage your advanced technical background to lead strategic security implementations in a 24x7x365 emergency services environment where system security and reliability are critical.

Your Responsibilities

Design, implement, and maintain complex Windows Server environments (2016/2019/2022) with focus on security hardening, vulnerability management, and compliance controls

Conduct security hardening of Windows Server environments using CIS benchmarks, Microsoft Security Compliance Toolkit, and industry baselines

Lead Microsoft 365 tenant security administration including advanced Exchange Online, SharePoint Online, Teams, and Power Platform management

Implement and optimize Entra ID with comprehensive security features including Conditional Access, Identity Protection, Privileged Identity Management, Zero Trust architecture, identity governance, and Azure AD Connect management with custom attribute mapping, advanced filtering, and synchronization optimization

Manage security of enterprise infrastructure including SQL Server, virtualization, network infrastructure, Veeam backup administration, and related technologies with focus on security hardening, performance optimization, and compliance controls

Deploy and manage security platforms including EDR/XDR, Microsoft Sentinel, Purview, and SIEM solutions with focus on log integration and threat analysis

Implement and manage email security and MDM solutions (Mimecast, Purview, Intune) for comprehensive device and communication protection

Configure and optimize network security infrastructure including FortiGate firewalls, regular rule reviews, traffic analysis, and Microsoft ecosystem integration

Advanced PowerShell scripting and Microsoft Graph API integration

Lead vendor security assessments, technology evaluations, and strategic security initiative planning with Manager of Information Security

Support SOC2 Type II and NIST 800-53 compliance efforts

Qualifications

High school diploma or equivalent

At least 5 years of IT systems and network experience with increasing responsibility

5+ years senior level Windows Server and Active Directory administration experience

3+ years Microsoft 365 enterprise administration with Entra ID hybrid environments

Microsoft certifications preferred (Azure Administrator, M365 Enterprise Administrator)

Security certification preferred (Security+, CISSP, CISM)

Expert-level Windows Server administration knowledge including Active Directory, DNS, DHCP, Group Policy

Deep Entra ID expertise with Conditional Access, identity governance, and Zero Trust architecture

Proven ability to lead complex technical projects and collaborate with cross-functional teams
