Overview
The University of Florida, College of Veterinary Medicine and Department of Small Animal Clinical Sciences invites applications from qualified individuals for one full-time multi-track faculty position in Medical Oncology at the rank of Assistant or Associate Professor. This position is focused on teaching and clinical service but also provides opportunities to participate in clinical and bench-top research. Responsibilities
Teaching responsibilities include didactic and clinical instruction in the professional curriculum and the supervision of medical oncology residents and interns. Participation in the clinical service in the UF Veterinary Hospital, including receiving and management of oncology cases, consultations within the hospital and with practicing veterinarians, and contributing to the growth of this service and continuing education. Facilities and Collaboration
The successful candidate will join a team of two medical oncologists (Diplomates of the ACVIM, Medical Oncology), two board-certified radiation therapists (Diplomates of the ACVR), and three surgical oncologists (ACVS Fellow of Surgical Oncology) in a 100,000 square foot Small Animal Hospital. There are extensive opportunities for collaborative research within the College and with the UF College of Medicine, Shands Cancer Center and McKnight Brain Institute, as well as access to a robust clinical trials service and the Comparative Oncology Trials Consortium (COTC).
