Overview The Accounting Manager plays a critical role in overseeing the financial operations, ensuring accurate financial reporting, effective cash and fixed asset management, and compliance with healthcare financial standards. This role partners closely with revenue cycle and supports strategic planning efforts, including budgeting, inventory auditing and system implementations.

Responsibilities

Month-End Close:

Lead and coordinate the month-end financial close process, including journal entries, account reconciliations, variance analysis, and preparation of internal financial statements.

Fixed Assets Management:

Maintain fixed asset register, ensure proper capitalization of expenditures, oversee depreciation schedules, perform periodic asset audits and asset disposal.

Cash Management:

Support, monitor and manage daily cash flow and bank reconciliations.

Budgeting & Forecasting:

Support the annual budgeting process by working with the Financial Planning and Revenue Compliance Department to gather inputs, analyze trends, and develop forecasts and annual planning. Provide regular financial reports and budget-to-actual variance analysis.

ERP System Support (Workday):

Support implementation and ongoing optimization of Workday financial systems, including testing, validation, and end-user support to ensure accurate data integration and process efficiency.

Internal Controls & Compliance:

Ensure adherence to internal control policies, healthcare financial regulations, and audit requirements. Assist with internal and external audits as needed.

Reporting & Analysis:

Support preparation of monthly financial reports, provide insights and analysis, and conduct ad hoc analysis on operational performance and capital investments.

Educational Requirements

Bachelor of Science Degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field.

Experience Requirements

Minimum 7+ years of progressive financial management experience.

Special Skills or Training Requirements

Technical Skills:

Proficiency in financial software and advanced Excel and ERP systems and data analysis skills.

Knowledge of GAAP, Medicare reporting, and healthcare regulatory requirements.

Soft Skills:

Strong leadership, decision-making, and organizational skills.

Excellent written and verbal communication.

High level of integrity and attention to detail.

Ability to work under pressure in a dynamic healthcare environment.
