Director, Accounting and Reporting
to join their team. The ideal candidate must have SEC experience, a valid CPA and experience with consolidations. The
Director, Accounting and Reporting
role is a client direct hire. This is a onsite position. Director, Accounting and Reporting Responsibilities: Lead the monthly global financial consolidation process, ensuring accurate and timely reporting across all business units. Collaborate with regional and corporate finance teams to enforce consistency and compliance with global accounting policies. Evaluate, implement, and optimize accounting systems and tools to improve process efficiency and reporting accuracy. Oversee the preparation, review, and timely submission of all required SEC filings (e.g., Forms 10-K, 10-Q). Ensure financial statements, footnotes, and management discussion & analysis (MD&A) are clear, accurate, and compliant with all relevant regulations. Partner cross-functionally with Investor Relations, Legal, and senior finance leaders to ensure alignment and consistency in public financial disclosures. Manage the XBRL tagging process, disclosure checklists, and ongoing improvements to the external reporting workflow. Research, interpret, and implement accounting guidance related to complex and non-routine transactions (e.g., revenue recognition, leases, equity, business combinations). Prepare high-quality technical accounting memos and position papers to support significant accounting conclusions and policy decisions. Oversee the accounting for goodwill, equity, impairments, stock-based compensation, leases, and other key financial elements in accordance with U.S. GAAP. Identify and account for complex financial instruments and derivatives, ensuring proper valuation and disclosure. Serve as a subject matter expert on technical accounting issues, providing guidance, training, and support across the organization. Monitor new accounting standards and lead company-wide adoption and implementation initiatives. Lead and develop a high-performing team of accounting and reporting professionals. Identify and drive opportunities for process improvement, automation, and standardization within the reporting function. Ensure compliance with internal control standards and Sarbanes-Oxley (SOX) requirements. Act as the primary liaison with external auditors for technical accounting and reporting inquiries, including preparation of audit schedules and supporting documentation. Support special projects and ad hoc financial analysis as needed. Perform other duties and responsibilities as assigned. Director, Accounting and Reporting Qualifications: Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related discipline; active CPA license required. Minimum of 10 years of progressive accounting experience, ideally combining public accounting (Big 4 or equivalent) with corporate accounting roles in complex, global organizations. Deep, up-to-date knowledge of U.S. GAAP, SEC reporting requirements, and complex accounting areas such as revenue recognition, lease accounting, equity compensation, and financial instruments. Experience working in a publicly traded, multinational company—preferably within the manufacturing or technology sectors. Strong understanding of foreign currency transactions, intercompany accounting, and multinational operational structures. Proven ability to communicate complex technical accounting topics clearly and effectively to both finance and non-finance stakeholders. Strong leadership and collaboration skills, with the ability to influence and build relationships at all levels of the organization. Excellent project and time management abilities, with a track record of managing competing priorities in fast-paced environments. Experience leading, mentoring, and developing high-performing teams.
