About the Agency The Illinois Emergency Management Agency and Office of Homeland Security (IEMA-OHS) is a team of dedicated public servants committed to preparing the State of Illinois for disasters and emergencies. IEMA-OHS coordinates disaster mitigation, preparedness, response and recovery programs and activities, and maintains a 24-hour Communication Center and State Emergency Operations Center (SEOC).
About the Position Under the direction of the Accounts Payable Manager, this position focuses on accounts payable. Responsibilities include processing and auditing vouchers, reviewing invoices for payment, inputting accounts payable data, handling travel and disaster invoices, and reviewing voucher processing as needed. This role operates in a dynamic environment with evolving challenges and rewarding results.
This position is a union position; therefore, provisions of the relevant collective bargaining agreement apply.

Essential Functions (Responsibilities)
Assists with tasks required for audits and the processing of revolving fund payments, and all types of payments and vouchers.
Processes transactions using federal and state funds with SAP and IEMA-OHS internal systems and workflows.
Performs account reconciliations using Microsoft Excel, SAP and Comptroller reports.
Organizes and maintains documentation and files according to record retention policies.
Performs other duties as required, which may include supporting other agency functions for disaster response.
Minimum Qualifications
Requires knowledge, skill and mental development equivalent to completion of two (2) years of college and completion of an approved training course, or three (3) years of related clerical bookkeeping experience.
Qualifying state employees in the Upward Mobility Program may complete combinations of proficiency tests and training programs leading to a certificate of proficiency in lieu of the stated requirements.
Preferred Qualifications
Two (2) years of experience with accounts payable functions.
One (1) year of experience with SAP/ERP systems.
One (1) year of experience in governmental accounting.
Conditions of Employment
Requires a criminal history check through the Illinois State Police.
Must be able to use state-issued equipment such as cell phone or laptop.
Overtime may be required, including evenings and weekends.

8:00a - 4:30p Monday - Friday
