Overview

Sr Revenue Cycle Analyst at Wellstar Health System. The Revenue Cycle Analyst Senior serves in an analytical and consultative capacity providing data driven insights to drive improvement, increase efficiency, and implement best practices in revenue cycle operations. The role develops high level reporting for management and executive decision making and reports for operational support. Under limited leadership guidance, the analyst will assess customer requirements, capture data, develop visual solutions, analyze results and develop customer-focused insights. This is an outcomes-driven position focused on translating knowledge into opportunities and reporting that will assist operations.

Core Responsibilities And Essential Functions

Revenue Cycle Analysis: Provides financial and operational data analysis to generate insights that advance initiatives and improve performance. Synthesizes information from internal and external sources, ensures data integrity and security. Identifies revenue cycle trends and drives process improvements to increase collections and reduce cost to collect.

Customer Support/Delivery: Builds consultative relationships as a key business partner for information and a data insights advisor to the Business, both inside the revenue cycle division and the IT division of Wellstar Health System. Translates customer data questions and requirements into actionable analytic score cards, dashboards, or reports in support of financial and revenue cycle improvement projects and initiatives. Develops and delivers impactful presentations for senior executives, departmental and/or hospital leaders, and/or at meetings with other key stakeholders. Follows best practices for presenting and utilizes correct template and formatting to provide consistent and easy to understand data analysis. Serves as the revenue cycle expert and liaison for assigned customers, developing solutions to operational and billing functions through collaboration with Revenue Cycle departments.

Technical Support and Expertise: Develops and maintains reports, dashboards, and balanced scorecards using visual analytics that provide enhanced insight and improve organizational decision-making. Identifies and keeps abreast of emerging revenue cycle trends, recommending and designing analyses to enhance the enterprise's competitive edge. Learns the unique attributes of assigned specialties and departments to assist in improving their revenue cycle.

Education/Training/Development: Collaborates with Wellstar IT Division, Operational Leadership and Revenue Cycle Analyst to develop impactful analysis and messaging to assigned customers. Works with Revenue Cycle Analyst on training and education of end users on self-service reporting tools, including preparation of instructional materials such as PowerPoint presentations, procedural documents, and data dictionaries.

Compliance/Other: Performs other duties as assigned; complies with all Wellstar Health System policies, standards of work, and code of conduct.

Education Required Minimum Education: Associates or Bachelors in Business Science preferred.

Licenses and Certifications

All certifications are required upon hire unless otherwise stated.

Epic Cogito within 120 days preferred; Epic Revenue Data Modeling within 1 year preferred; HFMA CRCR within 120 days required.

Experience Required Minimum Experience: Minimum 8 years relevant revenue cycle experience.

Skills

Understanding of Revenue Cycle and data analysis; strong storytelling and presentation skills; high attention to detail.

Deep business and data knowledge with ability to connect strategy to technology; complex data analysis abilities; independent judgment.

Critical thinking to translate executive requirements into insights; executive storytelling using visual tools; ability to develop project plans.

Proficiency with Microsoft Office, especially Excel; experience with data query and visualization tools like SQL, Power BI or Tableau; experience with Epic Cogito tools (Workbench, Slicer Dicer); Epic Caboodle; Epic Clarity.
