United States (Houston, Texas) Railblaza is a fast-growing US-based business specializing in innovative mounting solutions for the marine and outdoor markets. Our products are trusted worldwide for their quality, versatility, and reliability. We are looking for a detail-oriented and motivated Cost Accountant / Finance Business Partner to join our team and help drive financial accuracy, efficiency, and business growth. Role Overview The Cost Accountant / Finance Business Partner will be responsible for analyzing manufacturing and operational costs, financial and working capital forecasts, and ensuring accurate financial reporting that supports decision-making across the business. This role plays a key part in improving profitability, cost efficiency, cashflow management and overall business performance. The role reports to the CFO who is based in New Zealand. The role also works closely with Houston based ELT. The role will engage with the Board of Directors, who are also based in New Zealand. Key Responsibilities
Collect, analyze, and report on manufacturing and operational costs. Prepare budgets, and variance analysis reports. Monitor inventory valuation, standard costs, and cost of goods sold (COGS). Support procurement, production, and sales teams with cost insights. Identify cost-saving opportunities and process improvements. Assist with month-end closing, financial statements, and audits. Maintain compliance with US GAAP and internal accounting standards. Qualifications & Skills
Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field. CPA or CMA certification (preferred but not required). 3–5 years of experience in cost accounting, preferably in manufacturing or distribution. Strong understanding of cost structures, inventory management, and financial analysis. Proficiency in accounting software (ERP systems experience is essential, ideally Fishbowl). E-Commerce experience (preferred but not essential). Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills. Detail-oriented with the ability to manage multiple priorities. What We Offer
