Our venture capital fund, which is part of our beauty client, focuses on investments in promising startups. We operate globally with teams in Paris and Shanghai, and an Investment Director in New York. This temporary, part-time role offers an exciting opportunity to support our New York-based Investment Director in all aspects of the deal process. This is a highly-qualified position designed for a sharp, curious, and adaptable individual who can thrive in a fast-paced, deal-driven environment. Responsibilities
Deal Process Support: Assist the Investment Director with all phases of the deal process, including sourcing, due diligence, and negotiation. Financial and Market Analysis: Conduct in-depth analysis of financial data, legal documents, and market research. This includes organizing and evaluating information from virtual data room. Document Preparation: Prepare internal documents and create materials for investment committee meeting. Portfolio Management: Help monitor the performance of our portfolio companies, assist with quarterly reporting, and provide operational support as needed. Collaboration: Participate in meetings with co-investors, founders, and both internal and external experts. Research: Support ad-hoc research projects and attend relevant conferences. Preferred Experience
At least 1-2 years of solid experience in M&A investment banking (mid to small-cap) or private equity/venture capital. Strong technical skills, including financial modeling, financial statement analysis, valuation, and comparable transactions. Proven experience in a deal-driven, fast-paced environment with the ability to turn around work quickly. Background in corporate finance, financial controlling, or business analysis without direct investment deal experience is not suitable for this role. Desired Qualities
Adaptable and curious: a passion for investing in the consumer sector. Knowledge of the beauty and cosmetics industry is a plus, but not required. Flexible: ability to work across different time zones, as our global team and portfolio require early morning and late evening calls. Education and Hours
This role is ideal for MBA or master’s students who are seeking a part-time position with flexible hours (10-20 hours per week). The position can be remote or New York-based, though in-person presence is encouraged for enhanced learning opportunities and meetings. Compensation and Benefits
The target hiring compensation range for this role is $40.21/hour - $59.11/hour. Compensation is based on several factors including education, relevant work experience, relevant certifications, and location.
