Centene is seeking a motivated, self-driven associate actuary to join our Medicare Duals team. This role offers a unique opportunity to contribute to high-impact Medicare Duals analyses, while playing a key role on the Medicare Bid Team. The ideal candidate will take ownership of bid assumptions, conduct thorough bid reviews, and support bid certification efforts—helping drive strategic decision-making and ensuring accuracy in our Medicare bids submissions. Conduct analysis, pricing and risk assessment to estimate financial outcomes. Manage health plan specific actuarial needs and produce actuarial reports to aid in developing corporate strategy. In this Associate Actuary role, you will
Apply knowledge of mathematics, probability, statistics, principles of finance and business to calculate financial outcomes Develop probability tables based on analysis of statistical data and other pertinent information Research and analyze the impact from legislative changes Analyze and evaluate required premium rates Analyze various data reports, identify trends and gaps and recommend action Determine the equitable basis for distributing money for insurance benefits Create and update actuarial reports Participate in merger and acquisition analysis Conducting analyses, pricing, and risk assessment to estimate financial outcomes Owning bid assumptions and certifying a set of bids Being a Medicare Duals leader within the company
Highly Preferred
Member of the American Academy of Actuaries
Education/Experience
Bachelor’s degree in related field or equivalent experience. 2+ years of actuarial experience.
License/Certification
Associate of the Society of Actuaries (ASA) (or equivalent international certification)
Additional details
Applicants have flexibility to work remotely from home anywhere within the continental United States. Due to business needs, the ideal schedule is ET, CT, PT.
Compensation & Benefits
Pay Range $86,000.00 - $154,700.00 per year. Centene offers a comprehensive benefits package including health insurance, 401K and stock purchase plans, tuition reimbursement, paid time off plus holidays, and flexible work arrangements. Total compensation may include additional forms of incentives. Benefits may be subject to program eligibility.
